Pioneering Filmmaker Geoff Murphy (1938 – 2018)

Murphy was a legendary filmmaker, directing and producing 1981’s “Goodbye Pork Pie,” the first New Zealand film to attract a major audience. He moved on to Hollywood movies including “Young Guns II,” then came back to New Zealand and assisted Peter Jackson on the “Lord of the Rings” movies.

Radio Broadcaster Neal Collins

 

Neil Cornelius Adrian Collins ONZM QSM was a New Zealand local-body politician and former broadcaster. The broadcasting legend was on the airwaves for Radio Dunedin for many years.

 

Former Chief Justice Sir Thomas Eichelbaum

Sir Thomas (1931 – 2018) was the Chief Justice of New Zealand from 1989 until 1999. He was known for modernising the court administration.
