Samuel Tafesse was born to a low income family and was forced to work as a youth of only 14 years old to support his family. Being the eldest sibling, Samuel took a job as a parking attendant at the Addis Ababa Stadium, where he would use the opportunity to sell soft drinks, chewing gum, and cigarettes.
Sunshine Construction was established in 1984 as a sole proprietorship and later in 1993 transformed in to a private limited company. According to Forbs, Samuel is one of Africa’s richest men, with an estimated net worth of 1.6 Billion Dollars
